ImageIt’s all hands on deck for the Movies Under the Stars Planning Committee as we prepare for our “Concert and Silent Auction” Saturday, March 24 from 3:00pm-6:00pm at the Old Dutch Church.  Bring your check book because Bethany Hall will be the place to be to bid on fabulous dinner gift certificates, family fun packages, concert and event tickets to UPAC, massage, art, home improvement, music lessons, and a ton more.  Special thanks to Tamme Stitt Photography for agreeing to photograph the entire event. Check back over the weekend for a full listing of auction items – some really amazing items that are yours for the taking if the price is right!

But wait, there is more…  This is a concert after all.  The lineup will knock your socks off with a collaboration of local talent including Charlie Knicely, Bob Shaut, Teri Roiger, John Menegon, Harvey Sorgen, Machon Taylor, Tony Levin, Pete Levin, and Rebecca Martin.  The Old Dutch Church will be alive with “The Sound of Music” to support bringing movies to our parks this summer, and for years to come.  $15 per person/$25 per couple.  For tickets, please call 845.332.6600.

Our “Fun-raising” is really taking flight.  The community is stepping up and Movies Under the Stars is destined to be a summer blockbuster.  Visit our Sponsors link to see the wonderful organizations who are Starring, Co-Starring, Also Featuring, and working as Movie Extras to make this event possible.  New folks are being added every week.  After a successful day of bowling, raffle ticket sales, and new sponsors we have reached the $7,000 mark!!  And if anyone is wondering who took home the Big Lebowski prize at our bowling event, it was “Master Blaster.”  But you know him better as Common Council President and Movies Under the Stars Planning Committee member, Jim Noble.  With the support of a local business, we have also been able to save $2,000 off the cost of equipment, bringing the project cost down to $15,000.  We are almost half way there and the excitement is growing.

We’ll see YOU at the Movies!
