Willy Wonka @ Loughran Park Aug. 3rd
This week we present Willy Wonka at Loughran Park. “I’ve got another riddle for you” – where is Loughran Park?!?!? From Albany Avenue headed towards the town of Ulster, take a left on N. Manor Ave. or Roosevelt Ave and look for Manor Place. There is a small parking lot adjacent to the ball field or you can find on-street parking around the park on Charlotte, Roosevelt, or Manor Ave. The historic Citibus Trolley will also be available for free transportation to the event doing runs across the city beginning at 6:30pm and 7:30pm.
We have a very special treat this week, compliments of the “goddess of good eating” Diane Reeder – a chocolate fountain for the kids, and kids at heart to celebrate the movie theme! We will also be giving away 6 free tickets to the Aug. 9 Renegades Baseball Game compliments of our friends at Camo Pollution Control. As always, there will be ice cold water compliments of our good friends at Binnewater, popcorn thanks to Queens Galley/Cooking Matters and the Junior League of Kingston, and delicious hot dogs served up by the Salvation Army. All free, thanks to generous donors in the community. What better way to spend a Friday night? Come early to sweat off those delightful calories and move your body to the rhythm of Zumba in the Park with Drew from the Center for Creative Education beginning at 7:30pm with the movie to follow at 8:30pm. Bring a blanket or chair for the movie and sit back and enjoy the ride. We dare you not to sing along to the move!
If it rains the show will be moved to the Andy Murphy Midtown Rec. Center at 467 Broadway- check back here for all the details.
